Ellen Marmur, MD, is a well-versed dermatologist and dermatologic surgeon who diagnoses and treats patients at Marmur Medical. She established the practice in 2012 and works alongside fellow dermatologist Rachel Maiman, MD. Furthermore, Dr. Marmur Associate Clinical Professor in both the Department of Dermatology and the Department of Genetics and Genomic Research at The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. As a dermatologist, she specializes in the surgical and medical management of diseases related to skin, hair and nails and some cosmetic problems. With frequent appearances on television programs, including The Dr. Oz Show and The Today Show, Dr. Ellen Marmur is regularly quoted in articles in major magazines and newspapers. She attended the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and received her medical degree in 1999. There she received the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society Award. Furthermore, Dr. Marmur served her internal medicine internship at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (1999-2000), followed by her dermatology residency at the New York-Presbyterian Weill Cornell Hospital Joan & Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University (2000-2003). In addition, she completed her fellowship training in Mohs micrographic surgery at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (2003-2004). Dr. Marmur received board certification in dermatology from the American Board of Dermatology. Prior to medical school, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY, in 1991. Dr. Ellen Marmur is a mother of 3 children and 1 stepson, a wife, a full-time doctor, a philanthropist, a researcher, and an entrepreneur. She is a member of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the New York Dermatologic Society, the Women’s Dermatologic Society, the American Medical Women’s Association, the American College of Mohs Micrographic Surgery, the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery, the Manhattan Metropolitan Dermatological Society, the New York State Society of Dermatology & Dermatologic Surgery, the New York Facial Plastics Society, the American Society of Cosmetic Dermatology and Aesthetic Surgery, and the Association of Professors of Dermatology. She has nine years in full-time academia as the first Vice-Chair of Surgical and Cosmetic Dermatology at the prestigious Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City. She is an experienced clinical researcher, specializing in genomic analysis of the effects of sun exposure and aging on skin.
